Class Descriptions

"Gymnastics can help provide your child with a strong foundation for all things through sport!"

​Preschool Gymnastics Classes

 

During this 1 hour class, children learn how to run, jump, tumble, balance and swing by utilizing all four of the competitive events and trampoline. Children are also able to interact with their peers, develop listening skills, and learn how to take turns through a variety of activities! In addition, class instructors utilize props to advance your child's ability to identify colors, numbers, letters and shapes. 3 year olds should have a basic understanding of how to follow directions and must be able to stay within their group. Parents and caregivers remain inside the viewing lobby for the full duration of class. $220/10 week session

Girls Recreational Gymnastics Classes Ages 6+

 

 

Girls Beginner (1 hour) $220/10 week session

Student Ratio: 1:8

This is our entry-level gymnastics class for girls six and older. Girls will learn the basic fundamentals on all four of the competitive events. Basic skills include handstands, cartwheels, forward/backward rolls, chin- up pullovers, casts, jumps, how to balance on the beam and more. 

Girls Intermediate (1 hour) $220/10 week session

Student Ratio: 1:8 

This class is the next step to learning new skills. Skill progressions include handstand tree fall (vault), back hip circles, glides, mill circles (bars), jumps, handstand (beam), round off, back bend, bridge kick overs, handstand forward roll, back handspring drills (floor) and more! 

Prerequisite - you must first be enrolled in a Beginner class, have prior gymnastics experience and be assessed or recommended by an MLG instructor.

Girls Advanced (1.5 hour) $270/10 week session

Student Ratio: 1:10

Students are able to learn and practice skills such as standing back handsprings, round off back handsprings, front handsprings, aerials (floor), handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, twisting dismounts (beam), mill circles, front hip circles, squat ons, glide kips (bars) and more! 

Prerequisite - you must first be enrolled in an Intermediate class, have prior gymnastics experience and be assessed or recommended by an MLG instructor.

Girls Advanced PLUS! (1.5 hour) $270/10 week session

Student Ratio: 1:10

This is our most advanced recreational class! Students are able to learn and practice skills and new combinations such as running tumbling (tucks, pikes, layouts and twisting (floor), kips, free-hips, cast handstands, tap swings, long-hang pullovers, sole circles (bars), front/back walkovers, tic tocks, back handsprings, roundoff (beam) and more advanced vaults!

Tumbling Classes

 

Tumbling class is for boys and girls between the ages of 6 & 14 looking to improve their floor tumbling skills. Use of skill builders, tumble track, spring floor, rod floor, carpet bonded foam floor.

Beginner Class (1 hour) $220/10 week session

Student Ratio: 1:8 This is our entry-level tumbling class. Students will learn handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, backward/forward rolls, back bends, bridge kick overs, handstand forward rolls and also begin working on drills for intermediate level skills. No experience necessary! 

Intermediate/Advanced Class (1 hour) $220/10 week session

Student Ratio: 1:9

Class consists of: 

  • 20 minutes of structured warm-up including cardio, stretching and basic tumbling skills and drills. 

  • 30 minutes of structured tumbling under the supervision and guidance of an MLG instructor. ​

    • Skills may include, but are not limited to round-offs, back/front walkovers, back/front handsprings, bounders, back tucks, layouts, aerials, front tucks, pikes and more. ​

  • ​10 minutes of strength and conditioning. 

Prerequisite - Students should have prior gymnastics, cheerleading and/or tumbling experience and/or should be able to perform beginner floor skills (listed under the beginner class) proficiently. 

*Please note this is group-based class. Spotted turns are limited and are at the discretion of the instructor with both the student and instructors safety in mind. Groups are split by ability and are subject to change with progression.

FAQ: What is the difference between a tumbling and a regular gymnastics class? 

  • During a tumbling class, students will ONLY learn skills that are performed on the floor.

  • During a gymnastics class, students will learn skills that are performed on the vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor.

ENROLLMENT

New and existing students may enroll at any point during our 10 week session. Price of session will be prorated upon date of enrollment. If a registration is received before the session begins and the student does not attend from the beginning, there will be no prorate. We will not hold a registration spot with the intention of coming into the session later. *Please pay close attention to session dates. If your child attends a class they are not enrolled in, a single class charge will be placed in your account and payment will be required upon re-enrollment. 

Please review your online account, prior to the first day of class, to confirm class time and day that your child is actively enrolled in for the Session. If you have any questions about enrollment status, please contact the office.

  • You will have received an ENROLLMENT CONFIRMATION EMAIL

  • Enrollment Status will say ACTIVE & PAYMENT HAS BEEN CHARGED

 

  • If enrollment status says “ACTIVE REQUEST” you have NOT been approved for the class yet and should contact the office with any questions.

  • If enrollment status says “WAIT” you are currently on our waitlist and will be contacted if and when a spot becomes available.

CLASS ATTIRE
Girls may wear gymnastics leotards, dance leotards or leggings. Boys may wear t-shirts and shorts. No chewing gum or jewelry. Hair should be pulled neatly and securely away from the face. Girls should not wear bows or other large hair ornaments that may cause discomfort during activity. Personal items should be left in the lobby.  Main Line Gymnastics is not responsible for ANY items that may be lost or stolen.  

ARRIVAL AND PICKUP
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to scheduled class time. Please pick up your student on time. Please inform us if you know you will be late picking up your student. Instruct your student to wait inside the building and you should escort them from the building to your car. 

LOBBY ETIQUETTE

Adults who choose to wait in our lobby with younger children must contain control

and supervision of their child/children. No running around, banging on windows, flipping, 

ball playing or climbing is acceptable. Alcoholic beverages are NOT PERMITTED inside or outside our facility 

(including parking lot). 

CLASS LEVEL MOVEMENT
Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes are determined by ability and skill level.

Assessments are made on an ongoing basis. When it is determined by the instructor that a 

child is ready to move to the next class level, you will receive an email with a 

recommendation before the end of the session. Please note that every child is different and

FAQ: How do you choose students to be on the competitive team?

Students (ages 3 - 7) who show advanced strength, flexibility, work ethic and possess an over all natural drive along with ability for the sport are invited to train on our developmental or pre-team in hopes of acquiring the skills necessary to be invited to the competitive team.

TRANSFER REQUEST

If you would like to switch class times/day (pending an open spot) for the remainder of the session, you must submit a transfer request. All students are limited to 1 switch/session and will remain in that class for the remainder of the session. Transfer requests 

will NOT BE APPROVED within the last two weeks of the session. 

MAKE-UP POLICY

Your class session fee pays to reserve your child’s spot in their specific class each week. Students may NOT schedule a regular make-up lesson in another class. If a student misses a regular class FOR ANY REASON (included but not limited to illness, injury, fracture, absence, vacation, school events, religious holidays, etc.) they are welcome to attend 1 free open gym per session. (Please schedule here in advance) Make-ups must take place AFTER a class was missed, within the current session the class was missed. 

Holiday and Inclement weather make-ups will be scheduled in another scheduled class time, if requested. If a scheduled holiday and/or inclement weather make-up is not attended for ANY reason, the make-up will be forfeited for the rest of the session. 

Regular make-up: A class made up due to but not limited to random absence, child illness, injury, other event, etc. 

Holiday make-up: A class made up due to the gym being closed for a holiday.

Inclement weather make-up: A class made up due to an emergency inclement weather closing.

MEMBERSHIP FEES
$25/student or $40/family with more than one sibling

REFUNDS

Refunds are ONLY provided when a student withdraws from our program before the 2nd class of the second week of the session. ​If the second class or second week falls on a holiday, special gym, inclement weather closing or the student is absent for any reason (included but not limited to illness, injury, fracture, absence, vacation, school events, religious holidays, etc.) refund policy still applies. STRICTLY ENFORCED - NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • Payments may not be carried over from one session to the next.

  • Refund requests via email MUST take place within 7 days of the first class (starting with the day of class) or will not be granted.

  • If a refund is approved, new members will receive the full session fee. Existing or returning members will receive either the full session fee (if withdraw is before the first class) or the balance of the session fee whether or not the first class was attended. 

DISCOUNTS
We offer a 15% discount off the second class enrollment fee for families with more than one child in our program. Any child participating in more than one class per week receives 25% off their second class enrollment fee. 

GIFT CERTIFICATES

Gift certificates are available for purchase at the front desk. All gift certificates expire exactly 1 year from the purchase date. In order to use a gift certificate as payment, card MUST BE PRESENTED at the front desk. Gift certificates are not valid as payment via online registration or if lost or stolen. 

HOLIDAY CLOSINGS
If your regularly scheduled class falls on a holiday closing, please contact the office to schedule a make up (must take place within the session). Holiday make-ups will be scheduled in another scheduled class time, if requested. If a scheduled holiday make-up is not attended for ANY reason, the make-up will be forfeited for the rest of the session.

SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

Negative and/or dishonorable content that does not support the mission of Main Line Gymnastics, it’s Owners and Staff involving, regarding or aimed towards Main Line Gymnastics in any way posted on any form of social media, blog, review or website such as but not limited to falsified information, inappropriate photos and videos, bullying, racial, ethnic, sexual, religious, and physical disability slurs will not be tolerated and will be subject to membership termination.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
Circumstances involving inclement weather may result in the gym closing. A notification email will be sent to all members, and an announcement will be posted on all of our social media accounts and website. 

PRO-SHOP APPAREL RETURN POLICY

Pro-shop items may be exchanged for alternate size/style or returned for store credit only within 2 weeks of purchase. Pro-shop located in the Main Line Gymnastics lobby.

*Main Line Gymnastics reserves the right to cancel any class that does not receive at least two registrations prior to the first week of the session.  If this is to occur, you will be notified via email or phone at least one week ahead of time and we will happily fit you into another class time.
